  • Nursery Deputy Manager

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Brand NEW nursery opening Sept 2017. Recruiting for Nursery Deputy Manager based at Selsdon Croydon branch. Looking for someone that has worked as a Deputy Nursery Manager, Senior Nursery Nurse, Room Leader for 2 years or more, with children aged 3 months to 5 years. The role is full-time, Mon to Friday. We offer full day care for children aged from 3 months to 5 years, we are open 51 weeks of the year. Experience of managing small team of staff and also dealt with external agencies (OFSTED)-Early Years Foundation

    Main Duties:-

    • To promote the aims and objectives of the Setting;
    • To promote the high standards of the Setting at all times to parents/carers, staff and visitors;
    • To assist the manager in showing parents/carers around the Setting facilities and sending out information;
    • To ensure the Setting maintains a high standard of physical and emotional care;
    • To lead a team of professional workers and to ensure good practice at all times;
    • To assist the manager in setting and implementing objectives and policy for the Setting;
    • To assist with the planning and organisation of staffing schedules and holiday rota’s to ensure adequate staffing levels are maintained in accordance with Local Authority guidelines and Setting procedures;
    • To assist with the implementation of administrative procedures involved with: – registration, place allocation, and other related matters;
    • To assist with the development and implementation of systems to monitor and record child development;
    • To assist with the preparation and maintenance of materials and equipment;
    • To be responsible for the Health and Safety standards appropriate for the needs of young children and ensuring staff compliance and awareness;
    • To ensure high standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained at all times;
    • To ensure the Setting maintains a high quality environment to meet the needs of individual children from differing cultures and religious backgrounds, and stages of development
    • To ensure confidentiality of information received
    • To assist with staff development and training
    • To assist the manager in the supervision of the training of students in placement within the Setting
    • Liaise with parents/carers, other family members and staff to help ensure that the particular needs of children are met and that parental choice is considered in terms of care given
    • To liaise with outside agencies as required
    • Assist the manager with the efficient upkeep of the building and maintenance/stock of equipment, furnishings and fittings
    • Maintaining staff awareness of fire drill in accordance with the code of practice
    • To attend monthly staff / planning meetings and training sessions outside working hours
    • To undertake such other duties and responsibilities of an equivalent nature as may be determined from time to time by the Setting manager
    • To deputise for the manager in their absence. To actively promote and support the safeguarding of children and young people in the workplace, ensuring that all staff and volunteers observe Setting policies and procedures to keep children safe from harm.

    Qualifications:

    Completion of a CWDC recognized full and relevant Level 3 Childcare qualification, e.g. Level 3 Diploma for the Children & Young People’s Workforce or NVQ Level 3 in Children’s Care, Learning and Development Completion of Safeguarding Foundation course and Pediatric First Aid. A positive approach to gaining further qualifications. Understanding of the importance of Health & Safety and Food Hygiene in the work place.

    Nursery Nurse Level 2 & Level 3

    Nursery Practitioner level 3

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    We are looking for an enthusiastic and positive nursery professional to work in our nurseries Lee, South Norwood and our brand new Centre in Selsdon. We are looking for someone who is confident, caring and friendly to work alongside our existing team.

    You will be a key worker to a specific group of children. You will be responsible for liaising with parents on all aspects of their child’s care and development, and should have a good knowledge and experience of using the EYFS to underpin what the children in your care are learning, how their development is progressing and to plan what would benefit them as next steps.

    Nursery Trainee Apprentice

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    We are currently looking to recruit a young, upbeat and confident individual to join a friendly team within our nurseries located in Croydon and Lewisham as a Trainee Nursery Practitioner. We are searching for somebody who really wants to make difference in young people’s lives and provides a safe workplace for the children to thrive in a stimulating environment.

    As this is an apprentice position, candidates must be between the ages of 16-23. After completion of the children’s and young people’s workforce qualification the apprentice may be kept on as a full-time staff member with a pay rise depending on performance throughout the 12 month apprenticeship.

    Duties and Responsibilities:-

    • Taking the Key Person responsibilities for children in a group,
    • Adhering to Daily Routine, Rota’s and Themes ensuring that the children in their care benefit fully from the resources available.
    • Observing and planning based on the Early Years Foundation Stage.
    • To interact with the children at their level.
    • Help to ensure children in their care benefit fully from the resources available. Completion of children’s records and observations as directed.
    • Work positively with management towards parental involvement by attending parent’s days or evenings and fetes.
    • Take responsibility for ensuring own training needs are met. Consult/liaise with training provider to ensure adequate progress is being made with training. Ensuring personal goals etc. are being achieved.
    • Assist with the development of training role to benefit trainee and nursery.
    • Working as part of a team.
    • The care and supervision of the children with regard to their physical, emotional and intellectual needs.
    • Working with the practitioners, if required, on planning and preparation of activities, to meet children’s individual needs and negotiating working targets ensuring effective communication within the nursery.

    Room Leader

We are looking for a Qualified Practitioner to be a valued member of a professional, committed and a very friendly team. The ideal candidate will have an NVQ 3 qualification or equivalent and previous experience as a Nursery Nurse, be confident when talking to parents/carers and fully committed to working with children.
